BACKGROUND INFORMATION

One of the most original acts in comedy, particularly noted for his ability to improvise, Trevor Lock’s unique brand of high energy stand up, mixing cleverly crafted wordplay with stream of consciousness extemporization has gained him a worldwide cult following. He is particular adept at dealing with hecklers and without whom it sometimes seems he wouldn’t have an act. His raucous weekly comedy showcase Trevor Lock’s Philosophy Society ran for 18 months to sell out audiences in Leicester Square in 2007/8. He has toured the UK supporting both Stewart Lee and Russell Brand.
As well as acting in Channel 4’s Bafta nominated and British Comedy Award winning Star Stories, Trevor also writes plays; Travel Sick and Something You Should Know have both aired on BBC Radio 4’s Afternoon Play slot. What You Really Want, All By Myself and Friday and Night At The End of The World were all very successfully produced on The Edinburgh Fringe to both critical and audience acclaim. From 2006 to 2007 Trevor was a key member of Russell Brands chart topping BBC radio show and podcast where he played the character of “Cocky Locky”.
In November 2007 Trevor followed the footstep of The Dalai Lama, Henry Kissinger and Kermit the Frog when he was invited to address the world famous Oxford Union. He spoke on ‘The Meaning Of Life’ and refuted Descarte’s maxim ‘Cogito ergo sum’ by tipping a glass of water over his head.
