My name is Jim Smallman and I’m a full-time stand-up comedian based in Leicester. I’ve been performing to decent acclaim for the past 3 and a half years and this is, of course, one of those emails where I harangue promoters who haven’t seen me before for gigs, and remind those who have booked me in the past that I’m always looking for work. I perform paid work across the UK – I’m a very accomplished MC or perform as opening / support 20-25, and recently have been headlining smaller clubs.

I was a Laughing Horse new act finalist in 2006, and Equity Comedian of the Year finalist in 2007. I have performed in front of 2000 people at the Leicester Comedy Festival Preview Show (very positive review of this on Chortle) and have performed at the full spectrum of gigs – from packed student unions to rowdy “stag and hen” filled venues to debuting my hour long show in 2007’s Leicester Comedy Festival to a sold-out audience and very positive response.
